The operation of an ultrasonic homogenizer includes preparation, ultrasonic oscillator adjustment, pulverization, cleaning, and storage.
Preparation
Place the instrument on a stable surface and connect the power supply. Then, add the material to be pulverized into the sample holder. Note that the sample vial should be placed in a wedge-shaped water trough to prevent it from breaking during pulverization.
Ultrasonic Oscillator Adjustment
The input power of the ultrasonic oscillator can be controlled via the front panel. Normally, the power should be gradually increased to the set value and maintained for a period of time. Select the appropriate output power and processing time based on the sample characteristics and the size of the vibrating head.
Pulverization
Start the instrument, adjust the frequency, and set the appropriate power and time. The ultrasonic oscillator emits high-intensity ultrasonic vibrations to pulverize the sample. The sample processing time should follow the standard experimental protocol provided by the equipment manufacturer and be adjusted as needed.
Cleaning
Remove the pulverized sample and rinse thoroughly in clean water, ensuring no residue remains. Note that care should be taken during operation to avoid damaging the ultrasonic head.
