Ultrasonic Mixer
The principle of an ultrasonic mixer:
The core mechanism of ultrasonic mixing is the ultrasonic cavitation effect, which is the extreme high and low pressure alternating environment generated by ultrasonic waves propagating in liquids. In the negative pressure stage, countless tiny bubbles are generated in the liquid. In the positive pressure stage, these tiny bubbles are unable to maintain their original state due to pressure and will burst and collapse instantly.

Ultrasonic mixers are widely used in the nanomaterials, micro cement, cosmetics, paints and coatings, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
The principle of an ultrasonic mixer: The core mechanism of ultrasonic mixing is the ultrasonic cavitation effect, which is the extreme high and low pressure alternating environment generated by ultrasonic waves propagating in liquids. In the negative pressure stage, countless tiny bubbles are generated in the liquid. In the positive pressure stage, these tiny bubbles are unable to maintain their original state due to pressure and will burst and collapse instantly. At the moment of bubble collapse, powerful microjets and shear forces are generated, achieving the effects of droplet dispersion, mixing, and homogenization.
Advantages of the ultrasonic mixer:
1. Applicable to a wide range of processing volumes: Depending on the specifications and type of equipment, ultrasonic mixers can process quantities ranging from a few milliliters to tens or even hundreds of tons. The equipment has a wide range of applications.
2. Refining particles improves mixing quality: The cavitation effect of ultrasound can disperse liquid-liquid or solid-liquid particles to the nanoscale and prevent polymer re-agglomeration.
3. It has a fast mixing speed, extremely high production efficiency, and increases output per unit time. The implosion of ultrasonic cavitation bubbles is completed in microseconds, which can instantly refine particles and mix materials.
4. Nanoemulsions have better quality and a longer shelf life. Ultrasonic vibration can make materials mix more evenly, and since the mixing is completed at a low temperature, it ensures the bioactivity of the active ingredients in the nanoemulsion. More importantly, nanoemulsions obtained through ultrasound are less prone to separation during long-term storage, thus extending their shelf life.
How to choose a suitable ultrasonic mixer?
There are two methods for selecting an ultrasonic mixer: one is based on the viscosity of the material. Generally, the higher the viscosity, the larger the amplitude of the ultrasonic mixer required. Typically, the shorter the ultrasonic rod, the greater the amplitude output per unit area, and vice versa. The other method is to match the ultrasonic mixer to the throughput. For throughput under 5L, choose small-scale experimental equipment; for under 50L, choose pilot-scale equipment; and for over 50L, choose industrial equipment. Industrial production is generally divided into independent batch production and continuous production. Suitable ultrasonic mixers can be matched to either type of production, and the number of ultrasonic device can be increased or decreased according to changes in output.
